When the Unger family first came into Buzzy’s Country Store and were looking at the hat collection, I figured that they were probably checking out one of the college hats hanging up. But turns out that they had been in the Store previously, had seen the hat collection and now wanted to donate one to the collection: their family construction business hat. Bill Unger Sr. started and ran a successful construction business in Shepherdstown, West Virginia until he passed away recently. His Grandson Zach is shown above signing and dating the hat he wanted to donate to the Buzzy Hat Collection. (Zach also asked about buying the Bob Mann donated helmet shown in the lower right hand portion of the photo.) I’ll place the Unger hat along with the “Local Business” hat section and am very honored to accept it as the latest addition to the Buzzy Collection.
(Next order of business though, I got to find a place to hang the Bob Mann helmet as Zach wasn’t the first Buzzy visitor to ask about buying it. I think the helmet’s appeal may have something to do with Bob’s handle “Catfish” being inscribed on it.)
