Moonlight Feels Right

Great photo taken by John Carbone of the full moon out over the Bay and shining down on his pier.  Made me think of a couple moonlight songs one of which I’ve shown you previously but worth another look.  I always think of this song when I’m travelling and am on my way back home.

But here is another moonlight song that may be even more relevant to John’s photo above because it is a Maryland-referenced song that includes the line “Drop the top on Chesapeake Bay.”

Found this story about the song and turns out the “Came to Baltimore from Ole Miss” line is semi-based on a true incident wherein the song’s writer Bruce Blackman met and married his wife of 46 years.  Warning: there is a real tear jerker incident also mentioned midway in this article related to the song so have some kleenex nearby (click here.)   The Doing Nothing video embedded in the article is worth checking out too.
