Leave the Tree Up Til the Three Dudes With Gifts Arrive

In my prior life as a building manager, I made the mistake one year of having our Christmas tree in the atrium lobby area taken down on the Monday after New Year’s Day.  I then heard from several folks in the building who complained that I had  taken the tree down too soon.  Turns out that Orthodox Christmas had not yet been observed.  That was the first time I’d ever heard that the Orthodox folks celebrated their Christmas later than 25 December (click here.)

All of this occurred to me just now as I noted that today is Orthodox Christmas Day.  So to all you Orthodoxy folks celebrating today – Merry Christmas.  (I assume you all say that.  If not let me know.)

Although this comment was made in the video’s comments section, there seems to be some debate as to whether or not it is accurate (click here.)
