Speaking of Tom Brady (previous post.) His 2014 salary from the New England Patriots was approximately $15 million (click here.) By comparison his supermodel wife Gisele made $47 million in 2014 (click here.)
Seems a little off to me that folks tend to be very critical of football players’ salaries and yet not so much so re: the Bill Gates, entertainers, Wall Street boys and yes even supermodel salaries. (That the NFL is made up of 80% black athletes may factor into that critique somewhere.)
But at least athletes are training, practicing, competing and travelling several months a year to earn their huge salaries. Just what does a model do that merits that kind of money? Throw in too that football players are at risk for life threatening injuries every time they step onto the field. What’s a supermodel risking? Breaking a finger nail?
And while I’m on this subject of surveying models, I scrolled thru the Forbes list of the highest paid among them and found that I only knew the two Kates and Gisele for a total of 3 out of the 21 listed. Man of the world that I am, thought that I should have recognized at least a couple more of them. Doesn’t prove anything other than that I’m so old and out of it that now that I don’t even know who the hot models are anymore.
