Jeb’s got a point. However, I also recall a warning sign that read “Mistakes will happen but try not to help them do so.”
Each boating season you hear about incidents out on the Bay or the Potomac River where the Coast Guard has to rescue some folks who should not have been out there in the first place. These folks either ignore small craft advisories, or are in boats way too small for the conditions, but take chances with the elements anyway when they should know better. When they need to be rescued, the sentiment at Buzzy’s 4 O’clock Club usually goes “Dumbasses should have known better than to have been out there in the first place.”
So when you read about a cargo ship sent directly into an oncoming Cat 4 hurricane (click here) and you wonder why? Also, isn’t that area part of the Bermuda Triangle? As the 4 O’clock boys say – you would have thought that these guys should have known better.
