Took Grandkids to town the other day and hit some museums and sites. Pam took this photo of them posing in front of Dorothy’s Wizard of Oz Red Shoes probably the most popular exhibit at the American History Museum.
From there we checked out the National Archives’ Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. No photos were allowed in the Archives but I found this video from 2009 that gives you an idea what the Rotunda is like. (It is now illuminated with very low lighting giving the whole room a spooky Churchy atmosphere.)
With enough inside visits under our belts we then hit the FDR and MLK exhibits outside around the Tidal Basin.

We visited King on his actual birthday Friday the 15th.
