I received a very nice Christmas present from Shea and Stephanie – a Mary Lou Troutman painting titled Nothing But Net. In it Mary Lou shows Joe Nelson and his son Aaron pulling their fish net. The painting is now on my dining room wall.
This is a doubly nice present for me because Joe’s net is out in the river just up from my house which is probably obscured somewhere in the background of Mary Lou’s painting. During the fishing season I can see Joe out in the river pulling his net every day.
A second reason I appreciate this painting is that I took Joe and his wife Michelle’s wedding pictures back in 1986. This photo here is from Michelle’s FB page.
