While doing some spring cleaning in the Store the other day, I came across this get well card sent to Buzzy when he was hospitalized for some time. It was signed by several of his friends with some funny ones such as this one from John Porter “Get better quick. Berta’s threatening to raise beer prices.” Polock wrote “Hey old man, we are drinking, partying and chasing lizards having a ball. Miss you, get back soon.”
Or this one from Edelen who knew just how to motivate Buzzy to get well “Hey you old fart, get back here soon or I’ll charge $200.” Wayne Wiley, aka Gomar, also provided Buzzy a get well motivator when he wrote “Everybody’s on credit down here. Hurry back.” Berta included Bruno in her note when she wrote “You take care and I’ll try to hold the fort down. Don’t worry about Bruno. I’ll take care of him. He misses you.” JW’s was the shortest but most direct “Get well. Please.”
However, I think my favorite one was from Roscoe (Robbie Norris) “The place just ain’t the same without you yelling Pay Me.”
When it comes to songs about Getting Better there is only one that says it all:
