Buzzy March Birthdays

Ryan and Her Little Sister Reagan

After cold, snowy February, the month of March is always a relief in that winter is just about over.

Event-wise, March is fun because college basketball’s March Madness takes place along with St. Paddy’s Day (17th.)  This year, even Easter, on the 27th, makes an appearance in March.  (They need to stop rotating that holiday around;  I’d say nail it down but that sounds a little crass in a Trumpian kind of way doesn’t it?)  And to top it all off in March, there is National Mom and Pop Business Owners’ Day on the 29th – true look it up (click here.)

Birthday-wise in the Buzzy family we have some good ones to celebrate right from the start on 2 March when my daughter Ryan celebrates hers.  Joining Ryan are Rich Brewer and Dick Edwards who also celebrate on the 2nd.  Sheryl (Hall) McKinnon celebrates on the 4th, Tommy Salvo the 7th.  My nephew Michael Hofmeister on the 8th, and Bob Mann also on the 8th, Wendy Dean the 10th, Kevin Adkins 14th, Terri Yates on the 16th and Stevie Pratt on the 31st.

Speaking of sisters, Sister Sledge’s most famous tune is We Are Family.  However, that song was the Pittsburgh Pirates’ theme song in 1979 when they came back from a 3-1 deficit and beat the Orioles in the World Series.  I have hated that song ever since.  Check out another not-so-famous song of theirs:

Just to end on an upbeat note – March also features baseball’s spring training.
