A quick follow up on the Tourism Master Plan. One of the areas of opportunity cited in the Plan involved hosting weddings. (I have mentioned something previously about how the County is becoming a good place for folks to tie the knot (click here.) Here is what the Master Plan had to say:
There are already several venues in South County that cater to folks who either want to have their ceremony or their reception at a waterfront site such as Mary’s Hope. I know of several folks who have rented a couple of Peggy’s properties at RoDo Beach and have had their weddings/receptions there.
Since this is such a “potential growth market” maybe I should make Buzzy’s Country Store into Buzzy’s Little White Chapel and have folks get married there. (Buzzy used to officiate at his mock weddings where he would marry someone and issue a Three Day Marriage License so there is a semi-tradition to build on.)
