A very nice lady named Brandi has been coming into Buzzy’s Country Store frequently of late. Every time I see and say hello to her, I automatically think “You’re a fine girl.” She really is and my hope is that, like they say “in the rooms,” she keeps coming back.
However, truth be told, I automatically do that little “you’re a fine girl” mental fill in anytime I see, notice or hear mention of someone named Brandy. Guess I need to thank Looking Glass for branding all the Brandy’s I ever meet as “fine girls.” They could have dubbed her a bitch and then I’d have had that to deal with all these years.
Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl) was the Number One song on the Billboard charts for the week of 26 August 1972 – 44 years ago. Thank God it knocked Gilbert O’Sullivan’s Alone Again (Naturally) off the top of the charts because I hated that dreary, suicidal dirge of a song. (Now that I look at the Billboard chart from back then, funny isn’t it that all three of the top songs that week included a parenthetical reference? As you can see, I am a sucker for a good parenthetical reference (naturally you might say.)) Check that out, not everybody can pull off a double PR!

Got to play it for you. After all, Lord I am an honest man (or at least try to be anyway!)
