Years ago when I worked on Base, a co-worker Tony Manich came in one morning and informed me that he had been to a Sade concert the night before.
I asked him how it went and if she rocked any more in concert than she does on record. Tony laughed and replied that Smooth Operator was about as rocking as she got. That’s not a bad thing. I like women who deal with things on a low keyed basis.
I have a couple of Sade’s CD’s in the rotation. That said however, I would like to see her just bust out Janis-style every once in awhile.
