December features the celebration of Saturnalia, which originated in Ancient Rome as a celebration of the God of Agriculture Saturn.
Lasting a week, Saturnalia was quite the feast as folks put up decorations, had parties and celebrated big time with food and drinks. If any of that sounds like something familiar that we do later on this month, now you know how and why it started pre-Christianity.
