Speaking of birds (previous post) there is a little Cardinal friend of mine who occasionally visits me in the mornings as I sip some coffee and greet the day. A little after day break, he will just appear out of nowhere on the telephone line outside my window.
Some days it almost seems like he is peering in at me and asking “Hey, what cha you doing in there?”
Sometimes I will wave just to acknowledge him and let him know that I am glad to see him. However, that’s when he usually flies away.
Now, do I think that this is some spirit or lost soul in a bird trying to communicate with me? No, I’m not that spiritual nor a fan of super/para-normal things to go that far. It’s just a bird on a line.
And yet, there is something about the way he shows up, sits out there and gazes in at me that is a little, well, if not spooky, then let’s just say curious.
He hasn’t been by in a couple days so we will see if he gets this message to come back and visit me. If he does not, c’est la vie. But if he does make a return visit, then maybe I will concede that something is up.
