Weekend Events

Ah yes, spring has sprung even if someone seems to have forgotten to tell the weatherman.

Here are some South County events on the calendar for you this weekend.  However, with the weather forecast being a little dicey you may want to call the event organizers to see if they are still proceeding.

One event though will go down weather or not (pun intended) and that’s the American Legion’s Queen of Hearts this evening.  Drawing is at 7 and once you win either the 50/50 or the big prize you can mosey down to Buzzy’s Country Store and count your winnings.  Some folks will be on hand to assist you in what to do with all that money you just won.

South County events tomorrow are as follows:

Open 9 am – 1 pm

Point Lookout State Park is sponsoring a clean up day:

“Tools and Refreshments Provided” Is Always a Good Enticement Right?

Henry Gross had a hit song Shannon which I didn’t particularly care for because I always thought it was a little too sappy.  Plus, it was one of those songs you love to hate because once you hear it you can’t get it out of your mind (click here if you just got to hear it while I bad mouth it.)   But then I discovered that Shannon was actually about the death of a pet Irish Setter named Shannon and, being the great animal lover that I am (not!) I really didn’t care for it at all after that.

H
owever, having said that, I do like this tune of Henry’s as it always runs thru my mind this time of year when spring rolls around.  Guess you can say that it makes up for what a dog of a song Shannon is!
