While eating at Smokey Joe’s in Leonardtown I was enjoying the music coming thru their speakers. However, I didn’t recognize too many of the songs nor the artists performing them. As an instrumental tune was playing, I asked the waiter “What channel is playing?” He said he would ask the bar tender. When he returned he gave me a slip of paper with Toubab Crewe written on it.
Once home I checked Toubab out and found that somewhere between me asking the waiter and him asking the bartender, my question about what channel is playing got translated into who is playing.
This is the song being played. When I found this video on YouTube I smiled recognizing that this indeed was the tune I heard playing in Smokey Joe’s.
In Buzzy’s Country Store I mostly keep Classic Rock playing as it seems pretty much everyone likes and recognizes those 60’s tunes from the Rock Gods. Wonder how some world music such as Toubab Crewe would go over?
