Tippling a Jar

Speaking of country music drinking songs, (yesterdy’s post) here is one below that I bet you would never have thought of as such.  Honky Tonk Women was initially recorded as a country music song titled Country Honk.

Here is a scene from the Stones’ Netflix documentary Olé, Olé Olé which is a musical tour of their 2016 journey through Latin America.

Their tour ends up in Cuba where they played a concert on Good Friday. At the time Pope Francis criticized them for picking Good Friday (click here.)  The documentary does a good job showing how the Stones’ reps were working with the Cubans and had agreed to a Sunday concert.  However, that  date got preempted when then President Obama decided to visit Cuba (click here.)  The joke went something along the lines that Obama scheduled his visit because he wanted to be the Stones’ opening act.
