Bruno Mystery 1/2 Solved

Note: I will provide a Buzzy Christmas Party recap and some photos tomorrow.  I’ve just been too lazy to upload my photos.  Click here to check out some photos that Connie Lepper took including the following one of our illuminated Bruno on display:

Recall I told you last week how someone had left this St. Bernard lawn ornament on the front porch of Buzzy’s Country Store.  (My first thought was that someone had left it at the Store because they didn’t want to take it to the dump.)  It was a little beat up but Bobby Weight did some repairs on the old boy and now he is on display in the Store.  (Bruno not Bobby!)

I thought that over the course of the next couple days after Bruno’s arrival that someone would eventually come forth to tell me that they were the donor(s.)

Well, that someone came into the Store yesterday – Sharon Drury.

Sharon and Bruno

Sharon explained to me how she volunteers at St. Michael’s Angel Wings and Things Thrift Shop.  Someone (now the other 1/2 of the mystery) donated the St. Bernard lawn ornament to them.  Sharon noted that Ernie Fenhagen then told her how Buzzy always had St. Bernards and suggested bringing it down to the Store. (Thank you Ernie and thank you Sharon!)

When Sharon visited Buzzy’s yesterday it was nice that my sister Donna Jean Taylor was there too. Donna was one of the key people to get Angel Wings and Things up and running in 2014 and making it the success that it is today in fund raising for St. Michel’s School.  That my sister Lila Hofmeister is the principal of St. Michael’s makes this a full circle kinda story.

And speaking of fund raising then, Buzzy’s Country Store will be making a $100 donation to Angel Wings and Things Thrift Shop for theirs’ and Sharon’s assistance in helping Bruno find a new home.  This Bruno was indeed a rescue dog.

Party plans for the official installation of Bruno Is Back in Buzzy’s are underway.  Ideally, I’d like to find the original donor and have him or her on hand too.  If anybody has any clues as to who donated this to Angel Wings please let me know.

(One added benefit to having Bruno on display in the Store: it will allow me to point him out anytime someone comes into the Store and asks me “Do you still have the St. Bernard?”)

All of which makes me feel a little like the guy in that lime green Gremlin Cars.com commercial from years ago.  The lime green dude was thrilled to locate the car while I am the answer to “Who’s going to ever want a St. Bernard lawn ornament?”
