Buzzy Christmas Party Today

Buzzy’s Christmas party starts around 5 pm later today.  Got all sorts of food planned for the Buzzy table including Mary Lou and Jimmy’s fried oysters.  (My goal this year is to take a better photo of them preparing the oysters!)

2016 Party

Around 7 pm we will light the Buzzy Christmas Tree and the Bruno Lawn Decoration (now positioned atop the Buzzy potato chip rack.) So come down and join us!

Here then is a nice Christmas carol that Marylanders will recognize immediately as the basis of our official state song.  The lyrics to Maryland My Maryland were written in 1861 and have generated some controversy for calling Union troops Northern Scum and overall for being a pro-Confederacy song.  Because of this churn, there has been talk in the Maryland legislature of “retiring” the song (click here.)  If Maryland was a red state, I am sure that our Tweeter In Chief would have been all over this PC-run-amok issue.  May yet occur who knows?

Back to the original version O Tannenbaum, it is performed here by The Three Tenors.  (English version is sung last.)

I would challenge you, a la the Seinfeld episode, to name the third tenor that everybody tends to blank out on when asked to identify them.  However, his name is the very first one showing in the video title below, so you got it!  Then again I am assuming that you do know the names of the other two (click here if you don’t.)
