Remember When?

My friend Joan sent me this collection of Remember When items.  (The comments are my remembering when musings.)

Comment:  And just why did it always have to be a Number 2 pencil?  What was so bad abut versions 1 and 3?

Comment: as soon as I read this I could hear Buzzy saying those very words.

Comment:  As with the crying comment, as soon as I read this one I could hear my Mom asking me “What if you get hit by a car and have to go to the hospital?”  My temptation was always to answer her “Mom, I’ll be dead.  It doesn’t matter what my drawers look like.”

Comment:  Should have included “Old country stores.”

Comment: no shag carpet in the Buzzy/Jean domicile; but there was some in the trailer I rented from my Grandmother in Ridge.

Comment:  I remember Dr. Jarboe tending to me while he smoked a cigarette using a cigarette holder.  When I asked him about the holder he noted that there was some evidence that smoking was bad for you and he had started using the holder to help cut down on some of the bad things inhaled while smoking.

Nice collection of remembering whens.  Thank you Joan.

This Alan Jackson video features some home movies of him, his childhood and him dancing with his wife Denise.

One of the commentators noted “If this song is not played at my funeral, then I’m not going.” Comment: makes perfect sense to me!
