Speaking of calendars previously, check out this Pink Elephant calendar posted by Tom Mattingly on Massey’s You Know You’re From St. Mary’s FB Page. I think the date on it is 1957.

I tried enlarging it to see what’s written in details but can’t quite decipher it.
Also, I have tried unsuccessfully to find some photos of the Pink Elephant. There is an old, blurry black and white Enterprise photo of it when it burned in 1968 (click here.) .
Awhile back, the LexLeader reprinted an excellent Slackwater article on Pink Elephant’s Hilda Mowery (click here.) (Be sure to scroll down after reading the article to read the comments made by various folks. Reprinted here is one from someone named Jim who was stationed at Pax with the Navy in 1962:)
And speaking of Pink, her real name is/was Alecia Beth Moore. (Don’t know why nor exactly in what way, but learning that fact changed my opinion of her some.)
I had forgotten the title to this song of hers. However, when I typed in “Na, na, na, na, na” in the YouTube search box this came up!
