Gary Rue and his Smoke Creek Rounders will be playing some music for us on Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday 25 February. We won’t be serving any pancakes but there will be plenty of good things to eat including Gail and Mike Case’s excellent Gumbo and Nancy Barber’s King Cake complete with a baby hidden somewhere in it. Mark your calendars and as the say “Laissez les bon temp rouler.“
I only know one Mardi Gras joke as follows: What is the difference between Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras? Mardi Gras is an all night party in New Orleans. Fat Tuesday is who you wake up with the morning after!
