But speaking of fooling some of the people all of the time, you know what today is right? Yep, watch out for those April Fools’ gotchas.
I remember once being a young soldier assigned to the Arms Room where I was stationed in Germany. One of my first assignments given to me by my boss, the Company Armorer Sgt. Miller was to go down to the Admin Office and pick up some ID-10-T forms. “Make sure you get the correct ones” he told me as I wrote out ID-10-T on a scrap of paper and set out to get the forms.
Of course, once I asked for the forms at our Admin Office, I was then sent over to another office and from there to a third office and then onto a fourth office.
Finally, at my fourth stop a sympathetic clerk told me to look very closely at what I had written on my piece of paper and that I really was the IDIOT for believing that there was such a thing. (The phrase “fools errand” describes these kind of April Fools’ tricks where unsuspecting victims are sent on wild goose chases.)
Buzzy’s Country Store may not be open to officially celebrate any of the following April birthdays but here they are anyway: Bertie Taylor and Kevin McKay on the 3rd, Butch Wood 16th, Pat Adams 17th, Jack Flatly 23rd, Jack Wise 25th and Jay Ripson 27th.
My immediate family April birthdays include – son Shea on the 7th, niece Rilynn Taylor 18th, stepson Shaun ODell the 21st, daughter-in-law Caitie 24th, and my nephew Emerson Taylor on the 28th.
And last, but certainly not least, my wife Pam celebrates her birthday on the 29th. Hopefully, things will be settling down by then and we can start to look to May being brighter, healthier and happier.
Been catching up on some reading materials. Bo knows all about it:
