One Day At a Time

In his briefing yesterday Gov. Hogan laid out a 3 stage plan to reopen Maryland hopefully sometime in May (click here.)  (Key word here is hopefully.)

He specifically mentioned opening bars and restaurants in Stage 2 of his overall plan which is contingent on when the number of reported virus cases peak.  There’s something about waiting 14 days after the peak is reached before Stage 1 of the plan will be enacted.  Assuming that the virus cases peak, hopefully (again that word) soon, Hogan will wait for 2 weeks to implement Stage 1.  Then he will probably wait another a week or two to do Stage 2.  Bottom line is that it still may be awhile before Buzzy’s reopens.

All of which leads me back to my Serenity Prayer lessons learned “in the rooms.”   One day at a time may just be the best approach to life that I have ever encountered.  It works well also with Buzzy’s philosophy of not worrying about the past, only half way thinking about the future and spending most of your time focused on what you are doing today in dealing with life’s many ups and downs.

Notre Dame’s long time women’s basketball coach Muffet McGraw just announced her retirement (click here.)  One of the reasons she gave for her decision had to do with being home due to the virus shut down:

Maybe then, that is the silver lining in all of this lock down mode – you can try and stayed focused on what is really important:  your health and your family.

And since I’m in a semi-reflective kind of mood this last Saturday in April, how about some Kenny G to keep things mellow?
