Guess I was too busy trying to keep up with all of the Buzzy birthday celebrations we’ve been having this month that I overlooked this big milestone: 50 years post Janis dying on 4 October 1970 at the young age of 27. A couple months prior to her death, Janis toured Canada and performed the following song as part of the Festival Express tour:
Check out Buddy Guy talking about being on the train with all of them (click here.) There is a funny scene in the movie where they run out of booze and when the train stops, several of them descend upon a small liquor store and buy out everything in stock. I wasn’t able to track down that scene but you can catch the entire rockumentary on either Prime Video or Youtube. I also found this good article about the tour (click here.)
