Big event today and I’m not talking about the Duke – North Carolina Final Four game later this evening. The 7 Mile Bridge Run is the only marathon completely surrounded by water and is being held this morning from 6 – 9 in Marathon, Florida. Clever eh? A marathon in Marathon.
Here is the official FB page for the event (click here.)

My son Shea, his wife Steph, their daughters Lily and Emma and Steph’s Dad Eddie are working the event by being at the 4 mile aid station located approximately in the center of the bridge.
Note that Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay Bridge Run/Walk is set for 13 November later this year (click here.) I have done that (walked it that is) and it’s a nice experience if you’ve never done it. Gives you a whole different perspective of the Bay Bridge. This is useful when you are stuck in traffic on that bad boy and you can think back to how nice it was when you walked it.
Gives me an idea – maybe we should start a Cornfield Harbor Bridge walk/run. Have everyone start down there, run across the bridge and then continue onto Buzzy’s Country Store!
Speaking of walking somewhere check out this video from Amos Lee: /b>
