As a couple of folks pointed out to me, I got yesterday’s “Longneck Ladies” reference incorrect. It should have read “Fresh Pond Neck Ladies.” I have updated it accordingly. (Longneck Road is below Buzzy’s Country Store; Fresh Pond Neck is just above the Store. Too many Necks to keep straight.)
Also, the photos of the Sunday Scooter Memorial folks at Buzzy’s were taken by Brian Barnhill who was minding the Store for me while I was away. Brian informed me yesterday that event organizer Brandi Trexler asked him to take the photos since he had done so in previous years. Brandi took over for Brian behind the Buzzy counter and Brian got the photos. How’s that for “customer service” as in we had Brandi the customer serving up the drinks and beers?! (It also explained why Brandi wasn’t in any of the photos.)
As for looking ahead, all sorts of varied events are scheduled for this weekend:
At Buzzy’s, I don’t have to tell you do I? While it is hot as hell, we got the big fan churning on the porch and the beer is cold. Come join us and sit for a spell.
Music-wise, as part of our OC get away, Pam and I attended her great niece Emma’s dance competition in Salisbury and let’s just say it was “interesting.” At the competition, contestants did 3 minute routines to various tunes the majority of which I had never heard. Most of the tunes were electronic, hip hop, and/or rap dance songs. Here is a one that caught my ear and, unlike most of the songs played, I didn’t mind listenting to it.
