Ghosting Away In…….

Remember when a ghost was a ghost as in either a spook or an apparition?

My toilet was making some funny noises recently and after a little googling I learned that it was a victim of “ghost flushing.” Turns out a new seal was needed to eliminate the problem.

Then just the other day I overheard one of my friends in Buzzy’s Country Store complain that somebody had ghosted him on Facebook. Turns out that “ghosting” is now the new way of saying “Adios baby!” (Makes me wonder if Paul needs to update his tune to “51 Ways to Leave Your Lover?”)

All of which struck me as good news to see that the word ghost is making a bit of a comeback. I blame the Catholic Church for their role in hastening the demise and usage of the word ghost. Whether it was a Vatican II thing or what, somewhere along the line the Holy Ghost was shown the door and replaced with the more preferred Holy Spirit (click here.) The 5 minutes I spent checking this out didn’t lead to anything conclusive as to why they did this other than the powers-that-be thought that “ghost” sounded a little too spooky and weird. Forget all that rising-from-the-dead-and-ascending-into-heaven-business as not being too spooky and weird. Instead, they circled the drain with the Holy Ghost. What did he ever do?

Maybe we need to start a “Bring back the Holy Ghost” movement. This woke business really has gone way too far.

Here’s a funny video/tune for you. Check out Marty and his band mates’ funny reactions as they play along accompanying Leroy:

Then there was Jimmy heading out for his last Labor Day weekend show.

Thank you Brian!
