Gone But Not Forgotten

October 2005

Buzzy always liked to be away on a trip for his birthday on 10/11. In 2005 we took what would be our last trip together when we signed up for a NARFE-sponsored bus trip to Memphis, Branson and Ashville (where the above photo was taken.) Ironic thing about the photo above is that he is gone, but I still have that hat. Sure wish it were the other way around.

Orioles in the rear view, but still think I enjoyed this season more than any other I can remember. Next year.

Some 80’s notalgic music is called for. (Catch the line @ 1:23 “In the papers today, tales of war and of waste.” Some things never change do they?)

  1. I visited the small Buzzy store once in 1999 it was dark it took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust and I was greated by several older men who clearly stated where’s you from “ chickadee “ we had a small conversation about point lookout had a soda pop all through they tried buying me a beer or two or three. It was a great laugh thinking about it now. And I also stopped into Ricks Marina which is no longer there either. But felt welcomed and was told the history of the lower part of Saint Mary county. From these “ good ole boys “ are they still open at Buzzy? Might make a trip down there this weekend. For good ole times sake.
