A local couple in Buzzy’s Country Store introduced me to their son who was here visiting them from Nashville. I asked the son what he did for a living and he answered that he was a project manager. Before I could followup and ask what sort of projects he worked on, his Mom interjected “He is also a musician. You should hear him play guitar.”
My reply was “Well, how about that – there’s 6,000 guitar pickers in Nashville and here I got one of them in Buzzy’s.” The Dad, who up to then hadn’t said much, joined in the conversation by noting “Actually there’s 13 hundred and 52 guitar pickers in Nashville.” I laughed immediately and loved it that he got the joke (even if I did think that he was being a little “picky” in correcting me.)
I mention all of this because I just saw where John Sebastian turned 80 yesterday. This was the Lovin’ Spoonful’s last hit song.
