Several conversations in Buzzy’s Country Store this past week went as follows:
“Hey man, you going to the car show Sunday?”
“Yeah, what time we meeting?”
“Nine o’clock at the Hospital.”
“See you there.”
The car show they are referring to is the annual Spring Fling On the Square event held in downtown Leonardtown. My Buzzy-based participants like to rendezvous at the Hospital and then proceed into the show together. They don’t particularly care for nor want to be “on the square” itself.” Thus I guess you could call them Back Street Boys; but it sure doesn’t sound right to refer to Ridge Boys as such.
When I went looking for a car song to include here I immediately thought of the Beach Boys and their many car tunes. But I was a little disappointed that this list of their best songs did not include any of their car songs. Found myself agreeing with this comment:
And while I never thought of my favorite tune of theirs’ “Don’t Worry Baby” as a car song, it does have the lyrics “I guess I should have kept my mouth shut when I started to brag about my car” (1:05.) Thus, it checks both boxes – their best song and their best car song.
