I saw the tattooed words “I love you” on Ledo’s waitress’ arm but was unable to read the rest of it so I asked her about it. She then showed me the remainder of the quote “to the moon and back.” She went onto to explain how her Mom always said that to her. Thus, when she decided to get a tattoo she took her Mom’s handwritten comment to the tattoo folks to place the quote on her arm.
I didn’t think to take a photo of hers’ but did google it to land on something similar here for sale on Etsy.com folks. (Etsy offers temporary tats for sale. Sure seems to me like a better/less permanent/expensive way to get a tat if you absolutely had to have one or two or three or however many of them you may want.)
As my waitress friend finished up delivering the food, I started to make a Alice Kramden-related comment, but knew that she was way too young to even begin to get it. In lieu of anything Alice, I simply complimented her on how nice her tat looked.
Moving on, since I have landed on the moon so to speak, were you aware that we are about to have a Lunar Time Zone? This is from the 4 April 24 issue of the Smithsonian Magazine:
Note that the official name for this new time zone is Consolidated Lunar Time. Note too how NASA did not go with the obvious acronym CLT, but opted instead to dub it LTC. (Think they were concerned that CLT was a little too suggestive? That or they worried that no one would ever be able find it!)
As always, I got a Buzzy solution for this: if they were going to monkey around with the acronym to begin with, why not just call it AKT as in Alice Kramden time? All of us old farts would know what they were referring to. Or better yet, how about just call it MAB as in Moon and Back time?
