NBA Playoffs are currently underway and yeah, I know, nobody cares. But just for the Buzzy of it, here is something NBA-related that crossed my transom.
Shaquille ONeal said something the other day about how he always regarded Larry Bird as being more lucky than skilled. Shaq then acknowledged the obvious by admitting that the Birdman was pretty good.

This recap brought back a memory for me of my high school basketball Coach Brother Cassius chastising me when he caught me trying to make that behind-the-backboard shot during one of our shoot arounds. “Well, Mr. Ridgell, please tell me why are you wasting your time practicing a shot that you will never get to take in a game?” He of course was correct.
However, anytime after that, whenever I found myself on a basketball court attempting that crazy shot (usually playing HORSE) I always thought of Brother Cash telling me not to waste my time. Obviously, Larry Bird didn’t need to worry about that.
Music Bird video here for you, and yes, the behind-the-backboard shot appears at the 1:45 mark.
