Seeing the following recently on the Pt. Lookout Lighthouse FB page, brought up a nice memory for me that I will explain in a bit. First the recent Lighthouse items that caught my attention:
It also made me wonder – when IS the Lighthouse going to be open again to the public? After a long renovation was completed by Wayne Davis in 2020, the Lighthouse has yet to be opened to the public. The word I get when I ask why the slow roll on reopening is that they are working on the exhibits. Four years on exhibits? I’ve got some Buzzy’s guys who could knock them out in a couple weeks. I guess the best we can hope for is that it won’t be as long as it’s been.
But I don’t want to dwell on the negative here, because whenever this subject of the Lighhouse’s renovation comes up, I am taken to a pleasant memory of Mr. George Guy visiting Buzzy’s Country Store.
The day that Mr. Guy and his daughter Brenda visited Buzzy’s, I was down at the Lighthouse getting an inside tour of the near completed renovations courtesy of Chris Combs the head engineer on the project. Here are some excerpts from a Buzzyblog post I did at the time of what would eventually be Mr. Guy’s last visit to Buzzy’s. (He passed in June 2022.)
