St. Inigoes Country Stores (Con’t)

Father Johnson’s booklet Good News About Citizens, Towns and Villages of St. Mary’s County, had this to say about St. Inigoes:

Couple quick comments here. The unnamed “A store and a post office store were located at St. Inigoes long years ago…”that Father references may have been either Weiner’s Store or Taylors’ Store located at the corner of Beachville and Grayson Roads. (I will do a subsequent Buzzyblog post on these Stores.)

The Bohannan Store that Father does mention would have been what is most popularly known as Monk’s Inn. For some time now, I have been working on a Buzzyblog post saying more about the Bohannans and documenting the subsequent, numerous owners/proprietors of that St. Inigoes business.

What Father omitted any reference to however, is Stanley Raley’s Store which I have discussed a couple of times previously here on the Buzzyblog (click on links below video.)

Every time I drive that way or hear mention made of Grayson Road, I always think of the “Only Wanna Be With You” song from Hootie and the Blowfish. Why? Because they had to pony up for using the lyric about killing a man named Gray (click here and go to 14:30 mark for that story. Rest of the interview is worth listening to also.)

In the following video, Darius drops the verse that caught Bob and his lawyers’ attention at the 1:25 mark. My question then is – Hey Hootie, still think Bobby is so cool (1:54) after all!?
