Relaxing here with my first cup of coffee, I am listening to Wilco’s “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” “Why Wilco?” I hear you ask? (More likely for most of you is “Who the heck are Wilco?”) Well, since you asked, here’s the deal.
This weekend Brady and I returned to Chicago to re-visit Wrigley Field but also to check out Soldier Field. In between ball games we roamed around the city on foot and via their subway system.
Walking along the riverfront, I looked up to see what I call the “Wilco Buildings” and took this photo. (Note it was starting to get dark so those are street lights not orbs that you see.)

The official name for the towers and area is Marina City Complex.

Chicago-based band Wilco released their 4th album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot in 2002 with this as the album cover. (For back story as to how this photo came to be on the cover click here and scroll down.)
Here is a sample from YHF. (For a good 2 minute review/discussion of the album click here.)
My thanks to Kenny Wiegman who met up with Brady and me, chauffeured us to and from the airport and hung with us as we hit both ball games and toured around. Kenny now resides in Ottawa, Illinois and it was good to catch up and spend some time with him like we did.
My thanks also to Jenny, Brian, Tracey, Karen and Chris for keeping Buzzy’s humming along while I was away goofing off. Judging from the till, they had a very busy weekend. Leads me to conclude that I may have to be away more often.
On the down side of life, I just learned that someone I knew, liked and dealt with business-wise in connection with Buzzy;s Country Store committed suicide. Still trying to process that. She was only 52.
