The Onion’s infamous headline was first published in 2014. Since then, they continue to recycle it as needed. Today’s appearance marks the 37th time since 2014 that they have used it.
At Buzzy’s Country Store yesterday, I had the breaking news about the shooting on T-V. As folks came in and saw it, they said little to nothing about it.
When this Nirvana tune kicked in on the radio, I just shook my head and continued stocking the beer case. Pick it up at the 1:40 mark with the lyric “And I swear that I don’t have a gun.” For more info on Kurt’s 1994 suicide click here. Obviously, he did have a gun. At the 2:45 point in the song also listen for the so called mistake where Kurt comes in too early with the overdub “I don’t have a gun” after the lyric “Memoria.” Turns out that he liked the mistake enough to leave it in the song (click here.) Too bad he didn’t leave that shotgun alone.
