The Washington Post’s paywall may stop you from doing so, but if you can, check out a good article, the headline of which naturally caught my eye.

The article focused on knowing when it is time to walk away from something be it a job, a spouse, a friendship or in this band’s case, a very successful rock and roll career. (If the Post’s paywall got you, try guessing which American (clue for you) band it was about? And here’s another clue for you all, (the walrus) don’t lose your religion thinking about it.
Yep, it was the Athens, Georgia R.E.M. fellas. Excerpt from the Post article follows:
Since it is a Buzzyblog Twofer Tuesday, here then is another nod to a rock star who vanished for various reasons – Sylvester Stewart aka Sly and the Family Stone. He is currently semi-back in the limelight due to the release of a Sundance Film Festival documentary about him “Sly Lives!”
Sly slipped from the scene many years ago due mostly to some major drug problems. Through the years he has remained a bit of a rock recluse (click here.) It is good to hear that he is still around and being himself – thank you! Sly will turn 82 in March of this year on the Ides.
And speaking of walk away, in this linked video, check out the drummer Jimmy Fox. He was the founder and namesake of the James Gang. (I always think of Joe Salvo whenever I hear anything from these guys. Joe was one of the few folks to have ever identified and asked me to turn them up whenever one of their tunes played on the radio in Buzzy’s Country Store. Hence, I have them in the ole memory motel right next to Joe.) (Click here to see video.)
