If the Shoes Fit – So What?

Couple Wednesday mornings ago, I was hurrying out the door to go meet up with the Wednesday Morning Breakfast Club at Show Time Deli when I looked down to see this.

In my defense, both shoes are somewhat similar and I had them stored in the closet side-by-side. In my haste, I grabbed two, put ’em on and headed out the door.

When I saw that I had mixed up the shoes, I started to go back inside and change but decided, to hell with it. If anyone notices and/or questions me about it, I’ll just use Jerry Mahoney’s response as follows.

Years ago, Jerry Mahoney was in Buzzy’s Country Store when someone noticed that he had on a different shoe on each foot. When asked about it, Jerry simply responded. “It’s not a big deal. I have another pair home just like these.”

All that aside however, the lesson learned here is that the older you get, the better off you are the slower you go including deciding which pair of shoes to wear for the day.

I have discussed seeing Al Green perform at the BB King Blues Club in Times Square New York (click here.) However, until last night, I did not know that he had become a politician (joke!)

Great duet here with Lyle from the album Live on Letterman. I have this on CD and may just have to play it on my way to breakfast this morning (that is, if I can remember to do so!)
