Tomorrow here on the Buzzyblog, Chief Larry and I will feature our Buzzy Podcast Episode #6 starring Charlie Simms.

In the Podcast, we discuss Charlie’s 23 year Navy career with him. However, there was one note worthy event he participated in during his Naval career that I overlooked and that was his participation in the rescue/recovery of Alan Shepard.
Charlie was a member of the Navy recovery team sent to rescue and retrieve Alan Shepard following the first U.S. manned space flight in 1961. Although I have discussed this event previously here on the Buzzyblog (click here) I regret not asking Charlie about his role in the Shepard recovery efforts as part of tomorrow’s Buzzy Podcast.
All I can say is “Sorry, Charlie.” (And yeah, I went a long ways to tee you up for that one, so please accept my apology here for that too!)
To get back on track then, how about some Sunday morning spiritual music for you?
I had the Christian music channel playing in the Store the other day and overheard the dj introduce a tune as the current Number 1 on the Christian charts. As I continued loading the beer case and listened to the song, a semi-reflective moment hit me.
It actually compelled me to throw one up to the Big Guy in the Sky thanking and asking Him to continue to take good care of me, my family and my friends. Bottom line, it became my own personal “Hard Fought Hallelujah” proving once again, that the power of music is indeed a very mysterious muse. To quote Jelly Roll “I hope you leave here blessed y’all.”
