Pam and Pat Birmingham’s Going Away Party last night was a fun, relaxing and very good time at Buzzy’s Country Store. My thanks to all who attended and joined me in wishing Pam and Pat farewell and good luck on their upcoming move. Thanks also to David Norris and his bass player Stu for playing some great tunes for us. I will have more to say about all this in a later post along with some photos.
A quick look back at one of the highlights of my cruise down the Danube focuses on passing thru an area known as The Iron Gates. This 7 minute video will give you an overview of what makes this such a scenic place to visit.

As for the present, let’s do some gambling today and bet the Commanders to cover the 2.5 against the Raiders. I also like the over @ 43.5.
However, before you bet too much based on my say so, be forewarned that the Commanders historically have always lost me money regardless whether I bet on or against them. Call it the curse of George Allen, but I have rarely won money on betting any Redskins/Commanders games.
You would think that I would learn perhaps. But all of that bad juju changes today because as George would say “The past is prologue and the future is now.” (OK so he didn’t say that past/prologue stuff, but you know what I mean!) The Hawaiian fella Mariota makes his first start in 3 years and lights it up as the Commanders cover, hit the over and I take my bookie out to dinner to spend some of that money she owes me. Funny how that really is a win-win eh?
