As always (and maybe just a little more so this year,) the Buzzy Christmas Party was a huge success. Lots of great food, good company, plenty to drink, a tree lighting and even a surprise visitor all made for a very fun evening. My thanks to everyone who showed up and all who brought something for the buffet table. We had a variety of stuffed ham, oyster chowder, chili, gumbo, several excellent casseroles along with chocolate covered strawberries, cookies and other treats including a Smith Island seven layered cake. Where else do you get a spread like that?!
Attendance-wise it was a full house. Ned filmed this video to send to Pam and Pat Birmingham in South Carolina:

The Grinch (Dale Repel) was a big hit with everyone:

My nominee for funniest photo taken shows Bob Williams sporting his best ugly sweater, package and all, with Billy Long eyeing him and wondering “Who the hell would wear something like that?”

Kole McKay, the youngest person present, shown here doing the honors of lighting the Buzzy Christmas tree.

When it comes to off-the-wall Christmas tunes, who else but Weird Al could come up with this gem:

Back story has it that Weird Al’s record company was bugging him for a Christmas tune and he laid this bomb on them. Branding it “sick holiday humor,” the record company execs were not too happy with it and refused to release it as a single (click here.)
Speaking of Pat Birmingham, today is his birthday and he has arranged for a long distance round buy, so stop in and have one on him. We will make a call to him around 4 p.m. to wish him a happy one and sing Happy Birthday to him.
