This and That – Aloha Style

This time last week Pam and I were still in Hawaii and already it feels like it was much longer ago than that. What’s the old saying “If time had a speed limit then maybe I could catch up.”

Here are a couple of items that crossed my path when we were bopping in, around and on our way out of Honolulu.

Having a fine time:

Beer time advice spotted appropriately enough on the shirt back of someone at happy hour in a local cafe:

“Blue” humor. We saw a sign similar to this one in some town on our way to the North Shore but did not get a photo of it. Ryan was later telling someone about it and the guy passed this photo along to her.

North Shore sites: speaking of visiting the North Shore, we stopped at the Macadamia Nut Farm which is a tourist trap. However, gotta say that it is one of the better ones that I have visited. They had this print for sale that I debated buying. Ultimately, I did not do so, as the Buzzy in me won out because I thought it was a little over priced. I may splurge for it next visit there however.

Respect locals: my plan is to have some Buzzy decals made up with this instruction on them:

Rainbows everywhere. Just about everyday we were in Honolulu we saw a rainbow or two. For example, I took this photo from a whale watching boat as we were cruising along the Honolulu waterfront:

Airport Food: On our way home, with time to kill in the Honolulu Airport, Pam and I got something to eat at the Le’ahi Market. It caught my eye for two reasons: 1) It had this great sun mural adjacent it. 2) Leahy Street leads us directly to our home here in Piney Point. It seemed karma-driven that we dine at Le’ahi Market while heading home.

Who says you can’t listen to Christmas music in February?!
