Years ago one of my Buzzy visitors commenting on the weather noted “Spring is like my old lady – can’t make up her damn mind.”

I thought of that comment yesterday as I turned the heat back on in the Store. I had turned everything off Saturday evening knowing that we were going to be closed Sunday and Monday. As I turned the heat on, I thought about how just last week when the outside temps were approaching 80 and the interior Store reached 75, I had turned the a/c on.
If you google “spring weather variability” as I just did, you will land on all sorts of discussions about how and why the weather is so changeable at this time of year For example, there was this explanation:

As fora more in-depth discussion of it, think I prefer the Forrest Gump explanation of “Shit happens.”
Written by their lead singer David Clayton-Thomas, Spinning Wheel was Blood, Sweat and Tears’ biggest hit. It features the great opening line “What goes up must come down.” And although that saying was originally referencing gravitational forces, it applies to a whole lot of other situations including the weather!
That opening line would also ironically predict the future of BS&T as they became embroiled in a crazy controversy that ultimately led to the break up and end of their band. An excellent documentary titled What the Hell Happened to Blood, Sweat and Tears talks about how a mid-70’s European tour sponsored by the US State Department led their fans to accuse them of selling out. Fact is, they had agreed to do the tour in exchange for Canadian-born David Clayton-Thomas to get his green card in order to stay and continue to work in the U.S..
