Kentucky Derby Day

Kentucky Derby Day and let’s see how the big favorite Renegade (4-1) does with the Number 1 Post Position. Traditionally, the Number 1 Post Position has not done that well in Derby races:

However, someone who has always done well at the Derby is trainer Bob Baffert who has six Derby victories. His two horses today are Litmus Test and Potente. If I were a betting boy, sounds like the time to do some parlaying while partying on Derby Day.

Post time is not until 6:57. So if you do make it down to Buzzy’s, you will have time to socialize, sit out on the Buzzy front porch, grab something to eat and yes, there will even be a drink/beer or two (or three) floating around to keep you lubricated appropriately.

Although we usually have something on Derby Day at Buzzy’s, this year it is kicked up a notch or two (or three) with the Pt. Lookout Marina trio John, Fred and John hosting their Lathered Saddle party. Should be fun. No dress code of course, but hats are always welcomed at Buzzy’s – on men and women!

Ever heard of a horse named Both Ends Burning? Richard will tell you all about him:

PS – Just now as I was about to hit the Publish Button on this Derby Day post, my good friend Joe Stone texted me the attached article on Baffert and his 2027 horse Zedan (click here.) Now that’s a good omen right? Gimme Litmus Test, Potente and Renegade in a boxed Trifecta today!
