Speaking of canine references, it wouldn’t be August without a “Dog Day” reference, so check out this tune that was used in the opening scenes of the movie Dog Day Afternoon. This video includes the full song along with several scenes from the entire movie. The movie was based on a true story and was made in 1975. I recently re-watched it, and was pleasantly surprised that it has held up fairly well. (Did catch myself wondering how cell phones would have played a part were they around back then when all this went down.)
P.S. Amoreena may just be my favorite all time Elton tune.
