As for my recalling a coworker who won the Oyster Cookoff, I found this Enterprise article on Sally Brassfield winning in 1997.
And musically speaking of oysters, Blue Oyster Cult remains one of the better band names imho. They had this great tune Burnin’ For You that went to Number 1 and then their classic Don’t Fear the Reaper.
