Driving down the road yesterday with the raining falling down, I thought of something one of our tour guides said to us when we were sightseeing in Lisbon’s Alfama Neighborhood. “It is not ok to steal someone’s sunshine.” I thought about it as being a suitable sentiment on a dreary, rainy Saturday that impacted a number of events including the American Legion Car Show and the Oyster Festival.
As for how our guide came to make that statement, check out this photo of our view when she directed us to observe how the rooftops below us were staggered and offset from one another. She explained that this was due to a building code that prohibited someone’s rooftop from blocking the sun from the surrounding homes. She then concluded by noting “It is not ok to steal someone’s sunshine.”

Lots of “Sunshine Songs” to choose from (click here) but got to stick with my all time favorite bass line. Dunt, dunt, dunt, dunt:
No rain in the forecast today. Why not get out and enjoy some fall weather before old man winter comes a-calling not only stealing our sunshine but also our warmth!
