Clearing My Desktop

Here for your consideration, some items stashed on my PC’s Desktop that I never got around to doing an expanded blogpost on. Bottom line, having too much material on hand to choose from is a good problem; what to do with it – not so easy.

First up is what I regard as a “sad photo.” I took it at St. Mary’s City just above the pier where the Dove is docked and was saving it for a “Long and Winding Road” reference that never materialized. That I took it two days prior to Rich Brewer’s passing, always makes me think of him whenever I see it. Thus, a sad photo.

On an upbeat note, rock fishing season starts on 16 May of this year. I was thinking about using this nice Stephanie-photo of Shea and Lily to say something about it.

Guess I did so after all!

Love this photo of a Ridge Fire Department truck taken at the Point Lookout Lighthouse by someone who would prefer to remain anonymous. My message to him is: “Hey guy, when you take a great photo like this, you should also want to take the credit for doing so!”

I have been toying with doing a post on Karen Leach’s Grandparents’ Nettie and Roger Hazelton’s place the 235 Diner. In doing so, I planned to mention how they were largely responsible for the start of Horseshoe Leagues in the County (click here for that story.) Some then-and-now photos of the Diner are here courtesy of Frankie from Massey’s “You Know You’re From St. Mary’s” FB page:

And here is my recent photo of the former 235 Diner which is now a pizza place:

Music-wise, I could not resist passing along this meme even if the song itself is on my all time “Hate It, But Don’t Mind Hearing It Songs” list. Go figure.

I Don’t Know If That Is True or Not
