One of the topics discussed at St. Mary’s County’s Dept. of Economic and Community Development (DECD) roundtable meeting with businesses last Monday centered upon buying locally. DECD Director Bob Schaller discussed Rockville, Md.’s program http://www.buyrockville.org/ and suggested doing something similar here in the County.

Another DECD initiative is focused on starting a Construction Industry Roundtable Meeting for individuals in the construction industry (building, remodeling, renovating, surveying, sub-contracting, etc.. A future roundtable meeting will be held to discuss the challenges in today’s market.
